This is a photograph taken by Apollo 11 astronaut Neil Armstrong looking into East Crater, about 60 meters away from the lunar module. He estimated the crater was about 20 to 25 meters in diameter and 4 1/2 to 6 meters deep. The crater wall in the background is in deep shadow. The object at lower left is the stereo close-up camera. The view is roughly towards the northeast. (Apollo 11, AS11-40-5954)
