Put some lozenges in a heap of sand, sprinkle some alcohol onto them and light the lozenges.

The sugar of the lozenges burns, and the generated sodium carbonate forces the burnt sugar apart. It looks like black worms are crawling out of the lozenges, and it smells of burned sugar, similar to caramel.
