Hazardous Transports

Vehicles that carry dangerous goods have to be labelled:

Vehicles that carry dangerous goods are labelled with an orange sign at the front and the back.

Vehicles carrying radioactive substances are labelled with orange signs at the front and the back and additional warning signs on both sides.

For fuel tanker trucks and vehicles with mountable tanks or fuel tank containers the warning signs display two code numbers. Additionally, warning signs have to be placed on the tank along both sides.

Freight cars and tankers of railway wagons with certain dangerous goods carry orange warning signs with code numbers along both sides as well. The meaning of the code numbers is the same as for road cars. Tankers with liquefied gasses have to be labelled with an additional orange-coloured strip so that shunters and the fire brigade are able to notice them from afar.

Airplanes with dangerous goods aren’t labelled in any special way.
