Elliptic Paraboloid
The Elliptic Paraboloid
This surface intersects a horizontal plane z = z0 in an ellipse and a vertical plane x = x0 or y = y0 in a parabola. It is shaped like a bowl if c is positive and a mound if c is negative (Figure 11.1.8).
